The concept that “To
prevent is better than to cure” fits wery well
in the agro-alimentary sector.
A monitoring system capable of intercepting any possible infestant and of preventing
its reproduction, as well as of giving an early signal of its presence, surely
can save us from big problems connected with a pest explosion. Ditto for
the implementation of devices and techniques meant to reduce the risk of parasites’ trespassing.
A parasites’ proliferation in food-stuffs occurring at a certain point
in the process, requires a production stop and the dumping of the affected product.
The live cost of a disinfesting intervention, which is not always effective and
often requires to be repeated several times, adds to the total.
Therefore, acting before time really can dodge trouble and high additional
costs efficiently, provided one knows well the insects he is dealing with,
were they can hide and how to dislodge them.
The normative H.A.C.C.P.
which imposes to do whatever is necessary to avoid food contamination, should be kept well in mind.
In conclusion, whenever:
- infestants’ monitoring,
- preventive plans and disinfesting interventions,
- filing-out of H.A.C.C.P. documentation,
- micro-biological pads,
- aliment analysis,
is required, address to whom can put into practice what
he has been studying for years combining a scientific
approach to the applicational aspect.
Chemical and micro-biological analysis are carried
out by the Zoo-prophylactic Institute in Legnaro (Padua). |
